Region & Production
Sourced from the UNESCO-designated reserve of Kaffa, this coffee originates from Ephrem Mulugeta’s farm. Grown in fertile, rich soil, the coffee thrives under the natural shade of a diverse array of tree species. Kaffa is often celebrated as the birthplace of Arabica coffee, and this region’s tropical forests provide an ideal environment for slow cherry ripening, contributing to the coffee’s nuanced flavour.
Processing
The coffee cherries are carefully handpicked and sun-dried in shaded drying stations, allowing the flavours to develop slowly and evenly. Regular turning ensures consistency, while the natural fermentation enhances the coffee’s complexity.
Flavour
Expect a bright and lively cup with tropical notes of cantaloupe and bergamot, complemented by sweet undertones of elderflower. The coffee’s fruitiness is perfectly balanced by a smooth sweetness, offering a memorable taste of Ethiopia’s forest-grown legacy.
