This vibrant and complex coffee shines with its bright acidity and layered sweetness, a result of the high-altitude cultivation and careful fully washed processing method.

Producer and Region
Muburi Factory, located in the Kirinyaga region of Kenya, benefits from the rich, volcanic soils of Central Kenya. The unique terroir helps produce coffees with sweet, complex flavours and vibrant acidity. The smallholder farmers who bring their coffee to Muburi Factory grow SL28, SL34, and Ruiru 11 varieties at elevations ranging from 1,580 to 1,680 meters. These farmers also receive agronomic support, including custom soil sampling, which helps improve both the health of their trees and the quality of the cherries through more precise fertilization methods.

Processing
At Muburi Factory, only the ripest cherries are handpicked and carefully sorted. After pulping, the cherries undergo a fermentation period of 12 to 24 hours, followed by an additional 24-hour soak. The coffee is then slowly dried on raised beds for 7 to 14 days, a method that promotes even drying and enhances the coffee's depth and complexity. To ensure consistency, the coffee is covered during the hottest parts of the day and overnight to protect it from excessive heat and moisture.

Flavour
In the cup, this fully washed coffee reveals a balance of lively acidity and complex flavors, featuring notes of blackberry and molasses, combined with subtle herbals reminding us of sage. The nutrient-rich soils and careful processing contribute to its smooth mouthfeel and long-lasting finish.
