Producer and Region
This coffee comes from the Nyamiyaga washing station in Kamonyi District, Rwanda. Situated at 1,410 meters above sea level, the station is supported by 2977 smallholder farmers, each with farms averaging less than 1 hectare. The rich soils of this region have made Nyamiyaga a hub for quality-focused coffee production since 2013.
Through our partnership, farmers benefit from Farmer Field Schools, access to agricultural inputs, financial credit, and initiatives to enhance livelihoods and promote sustainability.
Cultivation and Processing
Selective hand-picking ensures only ripe cherries are delivered to Nyamiyaga. After floating and sorting to remove defects, cherries for this natural lot are dried on raised beds in thin layers under the sun. They are turned frequently to ensure even drying, a process that highlights the coffee’s vibrant and fruity character.
Post-harvest practices and sustainability initiatives, including soil health improvements and solar energy projects, ensure both quality and environmental responsibility.
Flavour
This coffee offers a comfortable and rounded cup, with sweet juicy notes of orange marmalade and blue grape. Delicate floral undertones of rooibos tea shine through, supported by a smooth acidity structure.
